Arcus Bows

Arcus bows are light, agile, and lightning-fast.

Arcus Müsing Violin Bows

Arcus Müsing Series Violin Bows are designed and known for their ease of play. Targeting a lower price-point than the Arcus bows proper, the Müsing bows, nevertheless offer exceptional handling and a rich, beautiful tonality. They are balanced for a slightly heavier feel and greater stability than the other Arcus lines. Given their pricing structure, they are also an excellent value, i.e. the buyer gets a high degree of performance quality per dollar spent.

The original C-series Müsing bows weigh approx. 54 grams. The L-seris bows are lighter at approx. 50-51 grams, and faster. Both lines produce a clear and colorful sound, with the L-series yielding a slightly fuller, more brilliant tone.

Manufacturer's Description

"Wow, this is a bow that does it all!"

This is what we have heard so often when musicians played a Müsing bow for the very first time. And indeed, it sits on the strings like on rails but also bounces with incredible ease. It pulls a sound that is inspiring, freeing up the potential of your instrument. Moreover it looks beautiful, displays prime workmanship and feels fantastic in your hand. Finally, it is extremely robust and completely immune to high humidity. A Müsing bow does not wobble or cause trouble with the tones, no matter where on the fingerboard, but always produces a pure and clean sound. Last but not least, it offers great comfort for your bow arm and hand, so that you will never feel tired or uncomfortable even during the longest concerts or rehearsals.

Travel with Your Arcus Bow

Arcus bows contain no ivory, tortoiseshell, lizard skin, or other controlled species. You may travel with your Arcus bow with no worries or hassles.

Support IPCI with Your Purchase

Help preserve the Atlantic Rainforest of Brazil, where Pernambuco wood (Caesalpinia Echinata) is grown. A portion of the proceeds from every bow we sell is donated to the International Pernambuco Conservation Initiative. To learn more about IPCI and how you can help, please visit www.ipci-usa.org.

Please note: Although we stock some models, with over 100 variations, we are unable to physically stock them all. We, therefore, obtain many Arcus bows from the US Arcus distributor, as needed. As such, we do not have up-to-the-minute stock information available, here. In the event that your selected bow is not immediately available, we'll let you know within one business day, and allow you to cancel, backorder, or select a different model.   Please note that payment is authorized at time of order, which can result in a hold to your payment account. Authorization holds cannot be canceled and may take up to 10 days to expire. If you'd like to confirm stock prior to placing your order, please call or email and we'll be happy to help. Thank you for your understanding!

A word about Arcus bow winding: Arcus has two types of winding - a plain silver/gold winding and a winding with alternating black and silver/gold (a.k.a. imitation whalebone). Please note that the winding is not predictable, but is chosen by Arcus for each particular bow to achieve an ideal balance. Regardless of what is pictured in this stock photo, your bow may come with a different style of winding. If you have a preference, please feel free to contact us about it prior to placing your order.
